Without one, Midjourney has free rein, which can be great, but often leads to mixed results. Adding style-related cues like “impressionistic,” “80s sci-fi,” or “minimalist” gives the AI a direction and produces visuals that feel intentional.

Mistake #5: Neglecting to Mention Composition and Focus

Midjourney is powerful, but it doesn’t automatically know what you want to focus on.

If you don’t specify the composition—like “close-up” or “panoramic”—or call out a focal point, you might end up with images that miss the mark.

Be specific about what’s front and center to get exactly what you’re envisioning.
